STRATEGIC TARGETED PRAYER

Strategic Targeted Prayer for March, 2009 - Supernatural Provision During World Financial Crisis

Brenda Myree • Prayer
As part of "Kingdom Seekers Newsletter" each month we will have an area in which we will ask you to "target" your prayers for that month. This is strategic warfare prayer in which we have a specific target in the spirit toward which we will direct our prayers. We are continuing this month to target nations hostile toward Christians, especially nations in which the Bible is restricted or illegal. But more specifically, in the area of supernatural provision for all Christians. Now, to make things clear, we are not coming against the nations themselves but, the anti-Christ spirit that rules over these nations. To uproot, pull down, destroy and throw down the kingdom of darkness in order to build, plant and establish the Kingdom of God!

STRATEGIC - TARGETED PRAYER

SUPERNATURAL PROVISION DURING

WORLD FINANCIAL CRISIS

Ephesians 6:12:  "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

Job 22:27-28 27  "Thou shalt make thy prayer unto Him, and He shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thou vows.  28  Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee:  and the light shall shine upon thy ways."

During this so-called "world economic crisis", I have notice how many Christians have seemed to have been swept up into all the fear.  Yes, many have lost jobs, many have lost money, myself included.  I am sorry to say, I too, found myself getting caught up in fear for which I had to repent.  As Christians, we must remember that God is our source, not our jobs or our respective governments.  The media has caused such a hype about the economy, governments are scrammbling, so-called stimulus packages are being passed, people are losing property, homes, businesses, taking their lives and those of their loved ones, etc.  As children of the Most High God, He has promised to supply all our needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus.  (Eph. 4:19).

The acronym for fear is:  False Evidence Appearing Real.   As Christians, we are to walk by faith and not by sight.  God has promised in His Word that He would never leave us nor foresake us!  He has always provided for His own during time of famine - supernaturally!

In 1 Kings 17, God sustained Elijah at the brook Cherith which provided him water and was fed by ravens.  Later in the same chapter, Elijah traveled to Zarephath where he was sustained by a widow.  Now, this widow was preparing to die herself.  They were in the midst of a famine and she only had enough meal (flour) and oil to bake a small cake for her and her son to eat then, die.  Then Elijah did the unthinkable.  He asked her to bake him a cake first which she did.  Because of her obedience, God supernaturally provided enough oil and meal (flour) to carry them through the end of the famine!  In 1 Kings 19, Elijah was sustained/fed by an angel.

II Kings 4 tells the story of the prophet's widow who came to Elijah complaining that the creditors were coming to take her sons in payment of debt left by her deceased husband.  In obedience to the prophet Elijah, the widow had supernatural provision - the little oil she had in her house multiplied until she had no more vessels to fill.  She was able to sell the oil and pay all the creditors!

During a famine in Samaria, four lepers were standing outside the city gate not sure what they would do.  If they stayed there, they would die.  If they went into the desert where the enemy was, they would die.  You will find in II Kings 7 that the lepers decided to go into the camp of the enemy.  As they did, God allowed the Syrians to hear the noise of many chariots.  They fled the camp leaving behind all their food, money, clothes, gold and all of their spoil!  The lepers told their king and there was so much provision that the people of Samaria had more than enough!

Isaac, also, in Gen. 26, was prosperous in the time of famine.  He was so prosperous that others were envious of him.  God supernaturally provided for him and his family.  There are so many accounts of God's provision in time of crisis.  So, why would God want to give us supernatural provision?  As a witness to the rest of the world of His goodness and grace.  To show how He takes care of those who are His.  To be light to those who dwell in darkness

Isaiah 60:1-3 states:

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and His glory shall be seen upon thee.

And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

Acts 13:47:

For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.

Matt. 5:14-16:

Ye are the light of the world, a city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

If this "world-wide economic crisis" is not darkness, I don't know what is.  It is not only affecting the United States but, the world!  As God makes supernatural provision for His children, the world will take notice.  I believe this could be an opening for the beginning of the next great move of God throughout the world.  If, like with Moses and the children of Israel while in Egypt, during the plague of darkness, they had light, I believe that during this time of darkness throughout the world, the children of God will walk in light.  Governments will take notice of how God is supernaturally providing for His children and be drawn to the light of God, the glory of God through us.

Psalm 37:25 says:

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

For the month of March, our targeted prayer will be for the supernatural provision of Christians world-wide.  Especially those countries which are hostile toward Christians.  Why?  So they may see how great God really is and will be drawn to the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  To enlarge the Kingdom of God.  Strengthen your stakes and lengthen your cords and prepare for supernatural provision!  Believe God's Word.  Live by faith, not in fear!  Proclaim the Word of God that the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof . . . He shall provided all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. . . Remember, we are the Body of Christ.  It is not just about us in this city or that city, this country or that country.  We have brothers and sisters throughout the world who are suffering!  Lift them up in prayer.  We are to pray one for the other.  Again, it's about the souls.  Walk by faith and not by sight so that the glory of God will show through you and draw "men" unto Him.
