With each passing day, it seems as though time is passing by faster and faster. Time must be growing short. There is so very much to pray for. So many needs, so much destruction and persecution. We continue this month to target nations hostile toward Christians,where Christians are being tortured or killed, especially nations in which the Bible is restricted or illegal. We are specifically focusing our prayers on the Nations of Israel and China.
STRATEGIC - TARGETED PRAYER
Ephesians 6:12: "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
Job 22:27-28: 27 "Thou shalt make thy prayer unto Him, and He shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thou vows. 28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways."
First question many may be asking is "why pray for Israel?" Apart from the obvious response that Biblically we all are to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, in following The Voice of the Martyrs for the month of August, 2009, there is an article about Messanic Jews, specifically, Messanic pastors, who are being targeted by radical "ultra-Orthodox Jews". These Messianic Jews, Messianic Pastors and their families are suffering harassment, intimidation and persecution! They are receiving threats and have actually been the target of car bombings and targeted for murder. It isn't enough when Christians are being persecuted by extremists of different faiths but for Orthodox Jews to stoop to such depths was beyond my comprehension. How do you pray for Jews worldwide when you know that different Jewish sects are persecuting your Messianic brothers and sisters in the Lord? The same way we pray for those of other faiths that find it "necessary" to persecute Christian believers. We first come against the anti-Christ spirit in the world. Second, we pray for the salvation of these Orthodox Jews that they will come into the knowledge of Jesus Christ and accept Him as their Lord and Savior! Sometimes the best way to launch a counter attack is by a direct frontal attack! Bombard them with prayer for their enlightenment as to who Jesus truly is!
The second country we are targeting this month is China. Again, according to The Voice of the Martyr, China continues its onslaught of persecution of Christian House Churches which their government deems as illegal preaching organizations. The Chinese goverment is censoring and controlling the internet access of the more than 100 million Christians in China by having media companies such as Yahoo and Google censor their search engines. Pastors, those who allow meetings in their homes and other Christians are being persecuted, imprisoned, tortured and even murdered by the Chinese government.
Again, PRAY FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH! Pray for a mighty move of the Spirit of God through these nations. Pray for the salvation of those who persecute the Church. Remember, in the Book of Acts, Saul persecuted the early Church until he had an encounter with Jesus Himself! After that encounter, he preached the Kingdom of God, he preached Jesus and spread Christianity throughout the gentile nations. Pray that those who persecute the Church will have an encounter with the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob... the God of Elijah that they too may find salvation.

On Sunday, November 14, 2010, we enter the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church around the world. Your prayers can set captives free and inspire persecuted Christians with courage to stay in the fight. This year we pray for the freedom that no one can steal, the freedom to believe.

Some days I just sit back in amazement at the direction this world is going in, especially the United States. But then, why should I be surprised? The Word of God tells us what it will be like in the end times. Men being lovers of themselves rather than lovers of God, people marrying and giving in marriage, people so caught up on themselves and what is going on in their little self-centered universe that they have no concept of what is happening in the heavenlies. No idea about the spiritual warfare that is taking place between good and evil and how their complacency is actually feeding the evil. Wow! What is going on in the world today? This is a question I have heard asked time and time again over the past few months. Another statement I have heard is how time seems to be moving so fast this year. There is much happening in the world, most of which is not good. It seems as though creation is crying out for the sons of God to be revealed. So little time and so very much to pray for.
